we decided to forego the Jabberwock names this year and call the Owlets the Tribbles - in honour of James T Kirk. When they were released we set up the night vision camera to see what happened, it was very interesting; we put their food in as usual and then just left the aviary door open at dusk so the could do whatever they wanted..... the biggest tribble comes out first (probably the girl) and she fly's onto the ground in front of the aviary and then off to the roof of the barns in the yard. We thought that would be it - one tribble gone; but no..... little tribble (probably a boy) starts to think about heading out too, comes down onto the lower perch.... then big tribble fly's back into the yard, hops back into the aviary! as if she is encouraging little tribble to come out.... then she hops out again, then she fly's near to the camera and finally she fly's onto the aviary doors and starts waggling them about! presumably in an attempt to get him to come out! unfortunately the bloody camera decided to stop recording at this point but it was amazing to see that she didn't just go away the first time and never come back - by the time we checked in the morning of course both tribbles had gone and are now (presumably) hunting free in our wood.....
