Jackdaws, jackdaws, jackdaws,
they filled the sky with their cries and the beating of their wings as they rose from the trees at one side of the common to make their way in a vast roiling mass to the roost wood across the field.
We estimated their number at 4,000 to 5,000 with a small percentage of rooks, perhaps 5% to 10%, amongst them.
The perfect way to see the sun go down.
